When to use oil?

The best time to add oil to hair or skin is after hydration. Oil is a sealant for example if you apply oil to fresh clean hair after leave-in the oil will seal in the moisture as the hair dries. If your hair is dry and brittle apply oil you will oil seal in the dryness the hair will feel extra brittle.

When you think about oils for hair and skin you want to consider which oils is the most penetrating and best absorption. Also consider which oil is heavy or light weight for your hair or skin type.

Jojoba Oil: works well for eczema, psoriasis, acne, antiaging and sunburn. You can also use jojoba oil as a makeup remover and cuticle oil. Jojoba oil does not clog your pores it is not recommended for sensitive skin may cause irritation consult with your doctor before use.

Grape Seed Oil: has a less greasy formula absorbs very quickly in the skin. Lightens skin discoloration acne scars, and sunspots, also helps decrease formation of keloid scars when used consistently.

Avocado Oil: absorbs deepest in skin, this oil is very rich and is not recommended for oily skin. Avocado oil is ultra-moisturizing and feels amazing on skin. Recommended for dry thick or curly hair.

Those are just a few of the oils I like to use or mix in my hair or skin care routine, whichever oil you decide to add to your routine remember consistency is key! Take care of yourself and follow Bottom Bay for more tips.
